Did you know that a Real Calendar is Still Important to People in their Daily Lives?

In a recent study* Calendar Advertising Council, respondents were asked how important calendars are in their daily lives. Results found 8 out of 10 people said calendars were extremely important, very important, or important.  Even with prevalent usage of technology in daily lives, people still like to use printed advertising calendars.

In fact, 70% of those surveyed have a printed calendar in their home.  People may use the calendars on their phones or computers but it is usually in conjunction with a business calendar.  People find wall or desk calendars are much quicker and simpler to refer to.

Most people surveyed were likely to use wall calendars because of the space available for notes, such as events, appointments, medication schedules, and phone numbers.  Other top used calendars are desk calendars, day planners, magnetic calendars, and pocket calendars.

Calendars leave a favorable impression and have high recall statistics.  Based on respondents reporting receiving one advertising calendar:

74% could remember the name of the company advertised
72% remember product or serviced being advertised
70% plan to do business with the company again
41% have referred a friend to the company that gave the calendar
Only 6% of respondents said they would not keep a free business calendar.

Calendars feature one of the best values as a marketing vehicle.  Most people look at their calendars 3-5 times a day but even if your customer glances at it at least once a day, the cost per impression over 1 year is less than a penny per day (Assuming the calendar cost $3).

Promotional Coasters Help Canadian Beer Company Improve their Eco-Friendly Image

Beer and gardening: While they typically don’t go together, they mesh perfectly in Molson Canadian’s new promotion. The beer company is using plan-table  custom coasters to generate buzz for its Red Leaf Project, an effort to help beautify Canada.

Consumers can pick up specially marked boxes of the brew to snag a promotional coaster, which, when planted and nurtured, will grow into a stately Black Spruce.

This promotional product is a perfect fit for Molson, which is striving for a more sustainable image. The custom coasters boast the company’s signature shades of red, white and blue, and they clearly state the mission of the promotion: To make Canada better, one beer at a time. Cheers to that!

KennedyPromo-Tip: Many promotional coasters, because of their slim design, are excellent for direct-mail campaigns.

Fire Up A Promotion With Custom BBQ Gifts

Seventy-one percent of all Americans own a grill, and 74 percent use their grill at least once a week, according to the 2012 Weber Grill Watch Survey. Are they using custom BBQ gifts featuring your company’s logo? They should be.

With the summer season upon us, you can bet grill masters will be out in full force, flipping those burgers and juicing up that chicken.

Come Memorial Day, an estimated 71 percent of grill owners will fire up their backyard grill for some flame-kissed fare, a 10-percent jump from last year.

“We continue to see a rise in the number of people grilling for nearly all major holidays, including Memorial Day, the Fourth of July (90 percent), Father’s Day (53 percent) and even birthdays (76 percent),” Brooke Jones, director of marketing for Weber-Stephen Products LLC, the world’s leading manufacturer of outdoor gas and charcoal grills and grilling accessories, said in a press release.

In honor of it being National BBQ Month, we polled our fans at www.facebook.com/kennedyadvertising to find out your favorite grub for grilling. The results are in:
  • 50% love burgers
  • 29% choose steak
  • 14% prefer fish
  • 7% enjoy hot dogs
If you love grilling out, chances are your customers do, too. Equip them with promotional BBQ tools to enhance their grilling experience and to get your brand, logo and message out there.

Now’s the time to give custom BBQ gifts—don’t wait until the end of summer. We have a full lineup of Promotional BBQ Accessories, from logoed aprons to custom grilling gift sets.

Pack A Punch With Packaging

How do you take your vodka? How about in a reusable, stainless steel canteen? It’s an unconventional idea, but it’s one that’s getting KRU 82 vodka some serious attention on the shelves.

One liquor outlet in the New York metro area reported that 80 percent of customers wanted to try KRU 82; a normal taste test only attracts about 30 percent of customers. The liquor outlet sold 20 cases in a matter of days. The owner says the packaging is the reason for the swift sales.

26 oz. Stainless Steel Drink Bottle conveys style and outdoorsy appeal. Hikers can pack some glasses and vermouth in their backpacks, and voila: martinis on the slopes. Or not. It’s just nice to have the option. This packaging also appeals to the green crowd.  It’s 100-percent BPA-free and shatterproof, so users can refill and reuse.

KRU 82 stands out from other vodkas because of its distinctive packaging. So we say: Ditch the proverbial bottle. Dare to mix it up with your packaging.

Promo know-how tip: Presentation matters. Polish your campaign with the right packaging, whether it’s a drawstring jute bag or a glossy gift box.
