Trade Show Planning & Execution are Essential for Success

Buzz Builders
When exhibiting at a trade show you’ll want to use imprinted products that will attract people to the trade show in the first place, to your booth while there, and more importantly, to your company after it’s all said and done. Consider your booth personnel; it’s a good idea to provide them with matching, imprinted shirts. Pick a bright color, so they stand out among the crowd of exhibitors. Pre-show, get your hands on a list of attendees and send lanyards, wristbands, badge pouches and tote bags to your top 500 prospects from that.

Education Sessions
Along with the pre-show goodies, provide some of the items people will need for education sessions. Bottled water allows attendees to keep hydrated on the go, while a folder, penor highlighters are items they are sure to use. USB flash-drives show prospects your company is far from ordinary.

In-Booth Traffic Builder
During the show, grab attendees’ attention. Mints will attract their eye. Then, after you have introduced yourself and the company, offer items such as a letter slitter, stationary pail, or key-chain as an additional gift for stopping by. Draw attention to your booth with a custom pop up or table display.

After-Show Follow-up
In addition, after the show, a simple paperweight is functional and appreciated and will really reflect positively on your company.

Promotional Folders are Great Distribution Tool

When you have printed information to transport and share with various audiences, promotional folders serve more than an operational purpose—they become mobile branding tools. That’s exactly what our client, Gary Cox, of Kemp Broadcasting likes about the Eco-Friendly Promotional folders we designed, produced and delivered to his Las Vegas event.

As General Manager for KVEG, KMZQ and KVGQ and a medium size billboard company, in the Las Vegas Valley, he needed to get a package of advertising materials to potential partners—and he needed to do it efficiently.

Kemp Broadcasting used large custom document folders to distribute this important information to stakeholders. They are printed in full color and can be customized based on your requirements.

“We needed a way to effectively communicate the various initiatives that we are involved in throughout the year,” he says. “The folder was an opportunity to present the material in a neat and attractive way.

Custom folders were the perfect way for Cox and his people to organize tiered layers of information about Kemps capabilities for personal customer calls. It was also was an attractive package that were sent to Ad Agencies and PR Firms for distribution to National Advertisers.

As a longtime Kennedy Advertising client, Cox has been impressed with our customer service, product quality and delivery times. “We will continue to enjoy Kennedy Advertisings Outstanding Customer Service for our future promotional needs,” he says.

KennedyPromo Tip: Tuck a thin, lightweight promotional item such as a magnet, bookmark or pen inside your custom folder to extend your message

Promotional USB's: Frequently Asked Questions

Promotional USB drives: They’re small, handy and perfect for passing and storing information. Add your logo, and you have a smart giveaway your customers can use at work and at home. Want some promo know-how on the tiny but mighty promotional USB? Check out this FAQ and click the Promotional Idea Video below.
1. What exactly is a Promotional USB drive? It is a solid-state storage medium that reads and writes to flash memory. It combines flash memory with a way to transfer the files stored on it through an integrated Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface. It’s small, inexpensive and durable. Custom USB drives are most commonly used to transport and store personal files such as documents, pictures and videos. They can be inserted in most any type of computer and accessed in the computer’s files system, making it simple to add or remove files, and then transport in a pocket.
2.  What does USB stand for? Universal Serial Bus
3.  What are other names for a promotional USB drive?
  • Flash drive
  • Thumb drive
  • Memory stick
  • Pen drive
4. What are the different styles of custom USB drives? USB drives come in all shapes and sizes. The most popular style is the swing drive which features a swinging cap closure. Other drives have various caps, some retract, some are built in to shapes, and some are wearable in the form of bracelets. Some come as part of pens hidden in the cap, and there are even eco-friendly styles built from bamboo. The limit is only your imagination.
5. How long will files last on the promotional USB drive? Our USB drives have a 10-year shelf life. Most of the USB drives that we sell will be good for 10,000 writes with virtually no limit on the number of reads.
6. Can the drive be Pre-loaded? Absolutely! Pre-loading a drive is a great way to enhance the effectiveness of your promotion. The first time your customers use the promotional USB drive, they can see your file in the directory. You can put any file you choose on the drive. When customers click it, they can instantly see the information you want them to have. Our customers appreciate the time and money they save by having us pre-load their USB drives for them.
7. What does “plug and play” mean? The device will not need any configuration or files installed; just plug it in. Your customers will be immediately ready to drag and drop files.
8. What are the largest promotional USB drives available on the market today? Flash drives up to 256 GB are available, with plans to release a 2 TB in the near future.
9. Are there other uses for promotional USBsDue to the size, portability, and durability of USB drives, they are used to move files around and for extra storage. Even Xbox 360, PlayStation3, DVD players and DVR devices, and some smartphones have USB ports.
10. Why does pricing change so much with promotional USBs?Flash memory is a commodity, and pricing is controlled by global supply and demand.  Case in point: The 2011 earthquake in Japan caused pricing to go up around 30% over one weekend.

A Half Dozen Great Ideas for Giving Promotional Products

The Holidays have passed, but that doesn't mean gift-giving season is over. People love getting promotional products any time of year and for any reason. Imagine your customers’ surprise and delight when you send them a gift smack in the middle of, say, January or May. They’re not expecting it, and it’ll blow them right out of the water.
Here are a Half Dozen Ideas for giving your Customers a Promotional Gift this year.
1. Your customers visited your trade show booth.
Whether your exhibiting or not, you need to have great trade show giveaways. It’s also a nice gesture to send your customers a follow-up gift after the show. They’ll appreciate your thoughtfulness, and it might be just the nudge they need to make a purchase.
2. You want to Thank a Customer for a Referral.
A referral is the highest honor your customers can give you, so it’s a good idea to show them a little appreciation. They've gone out of their way to endorse you, so send them something amazing. A luxurious embroidered blanket or a sophisticated wine gift will wow them—and keep those referrals rolling in.
3. Your Customers Signed up on your Website.
Whether they signed up for a newsletter, special offers or inside information, you can make your website stand out by sending customers a small token of thanks. They don’t have to be big-ticket items to be effective—go for cool notepads or funky pens.
4. It’s Your Customer’s Birthday or Anniversary
Everybody likes to feel like a VIP on their special day, so take the time to recognize your customer’s birthday each year. You’ll be remembered as a company that cares, and it’s all because you sent them a unique promotional product to celebrate their big day.
5. You Haven’t Heard from your Customers in a While.
Everyone’s busy and it can be hard to nurture every business relationship. If some time has passed since your last customer contact, send a small promotional gift to remind them you’re there and ready to work with them. It’ll put your company name top of mind and refresh your customers on what you offer.
6. Just Because.
Oftentimes, the best gifts are those given out of the blue and for no reason at all. By sending your customers a promotional product “just because,” you’re letting them know that you’re thinking of them. Try giving promotional travel tumbler filled with candy or a custom journal and pen combo.

KennedyPromo tip:

Packaging matters regardless of the timing or occasion for your gift, so make sure you present it attractively, whether in a custom gift box or bag.
